How long does it take to clear a few acres?
It depends on what is on the acres, not how many there are. I give you a window when I quote it, and weather is the one thing that moves it. You will always know where the job stands.
What sets the pace
The same things that set the price set the time. Thin brush goes quick. Thick cedar, big hardwoods, and stump pulling go slower. Mulching in place is faster than cutting, piling, and hauling, because nothing has to leave the property. Wet ground and steep ground slow every machine down.
What I tell you up front
When I quote the job I tell you roughly how long I expect it to take and when I can start. I would rather give you a window I can hit than a date I cannot. If rain pushes it, you hear from me before the day, not on it.
Why I do not rush it
Running a machine on soaked ground to hold a date leaves ruts and a torn-up yard. Skipping the compaction on a pad to finish early leaves you with a slab that settles. The job is done when it is done right, and I would rather explain a day of delay than fix something for a year.
