Will the equipment tear up my yard getting in?
Tracked machines are easier on ground than people expect, and I plan the route in before we start. If the ground is soaked, I would rather push the date than rut up the part of your land you were not paying me to touch.
How I get in
Before the machine comes off the trailer, we walk the path it is going to take. Where it enters, where it turns, what it stays off of. If there is a septic field, a water line, or a spot of grass you care about, I want to know on the walk, not after. I call 811 before any digging so the buried lines get marked.
Wet ground
Most of the yard damage people complain about comes from running heavy equipment across soft ground. Tracks spread the weight, but soaked ground still ruts. If it has rained hard, I would rather wait a few days than leave you with a mess to fix. I will tell you if the date needs to move.
When I leave
The work area looks like what we agreed on: chips, graded dirt, or a finished pad. The path in gets dressed back as best the ground allows. If something does get torn up that we did not plan on, you will hear it from me, not find it later.
